6 Practical Things to do During the COVID-19 Pandemic Posted September 21, 2020 By MtSinaiCOGIC

Houses of worship are closed. We have all been advised to gather in smaller groups – even with family. Sporting events and concerts have all been postponed, and our children are experiencing a forced distanced learning model.

Therefore, since we have all been charged to stay home, and the fast paced world we know has been tremendously slowed down, we need a plan of action that can help us stay encouraged and remain focused, during this pandemic.

So, what can we do?

Below are six practical things to do during this season of COVID-19.

1. Pray (Thessalonians 5:`17) We must continue to pray for God to heal our nation. Spend time on your knees daily – for this is the will of God.

2. Set goals (Psalm 20:4) As you accomplish your goals, check them off and begin a new one.

3. Relax (Psalm 91:1-16) Take comfort in knowing that God is our refuge and our present help in the time of trouble.

4. Reach out (Romans 15:7-8) Call an elderly family member and offer to run an errand. Call your brothers and sisters in Christ, call a friend to encourage them.

5. Write (Jeremiah 30:2) Write a journal, blog, start writing that book you’ve always wanted to write.

6. Read (Joshua 1:8) Read your bible and meditate on the Word, read a book that will uplift your spirits and help you become a ‘better’ you. Read books on finance.

God has not brought us this far to leave us. He will bring us through this storm. Stay confident and let’s continue to encourage one another – this too shall pass.
