CALLED THROUGH HERITAGE
BIBLE BASIS: Matthew 1:1–6, 16–17; Hebrews 1:1–5
BIBLE TRUTH: The humanity and deity of Christ are affirmed in Jesus’ lineage.
MEMORY VERSE: “[God] hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds” (Hebrews 1:2, KJV).
LESSON AIM: By the end of this lesson, we will EVALUATE the significance of Jesus’ earthly heritage and His heavenly origins, WONDER at the depth and scope of God’s eternal plan to bring salvation through Jesus, and WORSHIP Jesus as God’s definitive word to humanity.
BACKGROUND SCRIPTURES: Matthew 1:1–17; Hebrews 1—Read and incorporate the insights gained from the Background Scriptures into your study of the lesson.
