The Power of Prayer Posted September 21, 2020 By MtSinaiCOGIC

On March 30, God summoned our Pastor to convene prayer nightly at 7PM as we navigate the challenges of a global pandemic.  As of Sunday, September 20, we have been corporately praying via conference call for 5 months, 25 weeks, and 175 days, each night at 7PM.

We have petitioned God for repentance, for healing of the land, for revival to hit the land, and that God will fill us with the Holy Ghost.  We are also praying that God will to give us a special anointing during this pandemic—one that will touch every viewer of our weekly live streams.

As pastor often states, “time spent in prayer is never time wasted”.  Here is a promise from God’s word concerning prayer:

And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

1 John 5:14,15

This season of prayer has been so wonderful—the testimonies of God’s blessings in this season have been phenomenal.  We have received testimonies of healing.  One sister in the St. Louis area who has been frequenting the nightly prayer call has testified of being healed from cancer.  There are members in the Mt Sinai COGIC family who have testified about healing from various infirmities.  We have been praying for God to save—and there are reports of families who have been turning their hearts to God—during this pandemic.  Some of the saints have been blessed and are reporting new employment, promotion on their job, and unexpected financial increases.  We rejoice in the fact that God has kept the Mt Sinai family in this pandemic.

I want to challenge you to not grow weary as we continue seeking the face of God.  In fact, I challenge you to continue looking with expectation and hope for a mighty revival that will come to this nation—because we have been praying fervently for revival to come.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

2 Peter 3:9

We need revival.  We need to continue to seed the clouds of heaven, through prayer, for a mighty outpouring.  Let’s continue in prayer!
